  After releasing records by Swede Axel Boman, Frenchman S. Channel and Californian SFV Acid, Third Try Records goes back to Sweden and introduces the world to Bella Boo with her debut release, an impressive EP with an impressively mature sound for a young producer, light years away from the usual deep house tropes.

  The track opens with found sound that transports to a place where xylophones sound like ice cream trucks, with with lush electric keyboard notes gently rising at the foreground. As the found sound fades out, Bella Boo gradually builds a lovely downtempo tune out of different percussive and melodic elements, infused with a hint of summery naivety. The result sounds simple on the surface but is in fact a rhythmically engaging tune that gently caresses your soul, neither broken beat or house, but something that sits wonderfully in between.

  This track sees Bella Boo display her unique take on more dance floor oriented beats. Blending rhythms and sounds reminiscent of Afro-latin musics with a kit that favours genuine instrument sounds over electronics,
  LYN combines an engaging beat, tasteful electronic organ licks and vocal samples about loneliness. It’s simply impossible to sit still while listening to it.

  Warning, future vocal anthem here! Adding beautiful female vocals and changing the arrangements slightly, this remix of Lyn turns it into a soulful bomb, which starts by evoking the golden age of r&b before turning into the a tune with a rolling gait, which combines house and afro-latin elements just like the original. The aural equivalent of the sun shining on the dancefloor.

American producer Marcellus Pittman reinterprets LYN, with straightforward but highly effective four to the floor drum programming that gives a tribal quality to this beautiful deep house cut where hand percussion, lush keyboards and a warm rhythm section are elegantly combined.
